how to score a date with your crush

hello!  Sorry I don't post very many comics anymore.  I usually am working on book illustrations and other projects.  Here's an example of a page from a book I'm working on now:

But lately I'm very concerned for all you people out there without dates so I drew this how-to comic really quick last night to help you out.

Debunking Myths about Vegetarians

Sometimes people ask me questions about being vegetarian and what it's like to switch to a vegetarian diet after eating meat your whole life, and I know there's a lot of false information out there about switching to a vegetarian diet.  So here's some common questions about vegetarians answered, hopefully debunking some common myths about the vegetarian diet.  If you ask any other vegetarian they will confirm these answers to be accurate.

1. What do you eat?

2. What are some side effects switching to a vegetarian diet can have on your body?

3. Will my children be healthy if I raise them on a vegetarian diet? How will it affect them?

So there you have it. I hope this clears up some of the misinformation floating around out there.

Homey Homes

This isn't so much a funny comic as it is just an illustrated train of thought I was having about homes and what makes them homey

I was thinking about how people always apologize for messy their homes, and feel bad for not having magazine perfect clean houses. And I was thinking about how sometimes messy homes are more homey than some clean homes.

I mean obviously some messy homes are super gross, not homey, very bad, possibly a health hazard:

But on the other hand I think extraordinarily clean homes can feel kind of empty and fake, and not very homey:

Especially when you get the sense that everything inside is decorative and you're afraid to even sit down on the couch because you might ruin it with your human presence. It looks pretty but it doesn't feel like a place where humans live in my opinion

I think the homes that feel most homey are bursting with the personalities that live inside the home. Even though the adults who live there constantly apologize to the guests for the mess, sometimes a bit of mess feels good and gives the room personality.

Rock Collection

I don't think I have anything to lose or gain from posting this on the internet because most of these guys are probably married with babies, or at least busy being adults with jobs now.  (Obviously I'm none of those things)

When I was in high school I took much pride in being the queen of creating various codes, symbols, alphabets, and other cryptic language systems for the single purpose of confiding crushes (and exchanging all crush-related information).  For instance, I created a "Crush Dictionary" for classifying crush types, which I posted here

Rock Collections were my pièce de résistance.

How Rock Collections worked:

Step One: Have a crush

Step Two: Find a rock that you associate with your crush in any way and put it somewhere safe

For example:

More examples:

After your rock collection has been established, share it with your friends in confidence.  The rock collection can then be used for frivolous "would-you-rather" style sleepover games by shaking & pulling rocks from a bag.

Take note: the later you stay up, the more insane the questions become

Photographic proof this really existed:

p.s. there may or may not have been more rocks in the collection than those included in this post
....and there may have also been some buttons, bells, and pins.....oOooh mysterious...
